How would you assess the transferability of the re-design approach you employed to new subject areas or disciplines?

December 2002 Update: Student results from the fall 2002 semester make it uncertain as to how well the course redesign will transfer to other courses either in the department or university. However the department and administration remains committed to some form of course redesign. Results from the spring 2003 semester will greatly influence which direction the department takes in implementing widespread course redesign in the future.
