Will the redesign be sustained now that the grant period is over?
The department of statistics at Ohio State is strongly committed to the redesign. Initially some faculty were hesitant to get involved because the redesign was perceived as complicated. Once faculty members became involved and understood the faculty roles more clearly, the changes in the course are no longer perceived as difficult. Some faculty have become more involved in multiple aspects of the redesign, while others have concentrated their involvement on a more limited aspect of the buffet model. The redesign team also included two statistics education staff members who have been involved in incorporating some of the buffet strategies and techniques in additional statistics courses at Ohio State.
