Sustainability

The University of New Mexico

Will the redesign be sustained now that the grant period is over?

The redesigned course reflects a permanent change in the way introductory psychology is taught at UNM. In addition, one section of abnormal psychology enrolling approximately 300 students will be offered using the redesign template in fall 2003. Two NSF grants have been submitted based in part on results obtained from the redesign. One grant proposes the redesign of introductory math and science courses (biology, chemistry, and physics); the other examines ways to show enhanced concept formation abilities in introductory physics and psychology. Both grants feature the use of low-risk quizzes as a means of enhancing student learning.
